The show known as, "Basketball Wives."

                     Basketball Wives

Yesterday, while studying for Physics and Cell Biology, my friend decided to watch the show, “The Basketball Wives.” Within the only five minutes that I could view, I came to the conclusion that the show is such a joke. I don’t look at the show, but a friend of mines was looking at it, and honestly, during the 5 minutes that I saw, I could have regurgitated. The pure ignorance, hatred, and arrogance were profound on this sickening show. Disgusting isn’t even a word that can describe it. My God, the show consists of supposedly, “adult,” women…needless to say, NONE…NONE of them acts as such! All of the women act as if they are still in MIDDLE SCHOOL or HIGH SCHOOL. Honestly, tell me any adult females stating they are in a “clique?” My God, grow up!

Mainly I’ll be discussing the two pests – Evelyn and Tami, I saw more than enough of those two within the FIVE minutes that I literally had to force myself to view because of my friend.

The creature named, Tami. Wow, honestly, you are an atrocious pest! You’re not a WOMAN; in fact, you’re not even qualified to be an ANIMAL! You’re hideous; you bullied, coerced, and treated that young lady as if she wasn’t even human. Get your life and attitude together; if that continues, you’ll become a worthless individual – no friend or family. Grow up! Simple as that!

The woman Evelyn – or however you spell her name. There isn’t much I can say about you except, you are probably worst than the woman Tami. You are a PEST just as TAMI is. You two are harmful to humans, you eat away at others as if they are plants. I wish we could spray you two with pesticides!! Grow up! My opinion of you is that you are indeed on your way to being, worthless just as your TAMI!

As for the others, get a new hobby, none of ya’ll are “wives,” the show is such a joke. It should be taken off the air. The producers are a joke, the “reality” is more of a joke, and you creatures take the meaning of “joke,” to a higher level. All the MONEY in the world won’t fix ugly and believe me, all the MONEY in the world won’t fix LONELY.

As I say earlier, GET A HOBBY! GET A REAL LIFE! LEARN SOMETHING! HELP SOMEONE! And GROW UP!

EcoJustice Education Response

In the article, “EcoJustice Education,” by Theobald and Shandomo, an interesting statement caught my attention, the two stated, “For the past century America’s cultural embrace of industrial values: ever-increasing production, ever-increasing levels of efficiency, and ever-increasing levels of consumption, have been so dominant that the American public scarcely retains any cultural memory of the values that defined an agrarian worldview, values such as frugality, good neighborship, the avoidance of risk, and the psychological profit in work done well.” Wow! But to continue, “As a consequence, the considerable, though disparate, educational movements well below the current radar, such as project-based learning or place-based learning, are operating to some degree in the dark, unaware of the extent to which these efforts resonate with the worldview captured by the term agrarianism.” The one paragraph, kept my attention and made me truly think, “wow!” has society truly tarnished its image overall (far as us as a population?) People are thinking about their “get rich quick scheme” or “their money.” They aren’t thinking of an education, they aren’t thinking of others, instead, they are only thinking of themselves. They could think of children in Africa and many third world countries without food/water, but they don’t; they can think of their neighbor, someone whose in the same city as them going without – food/water, but they do not. Instead, they are only thinking of themselves and trying to become RICH quick. They aren’t telling kids that an education is important, or the rights/wrongs, but then again, maybe they are so lost that they don’t truly know what’s right or wrong? Honestly, there could be many debates, and it could continually go-on-and-on-and-on, society as a whole just doesn’t value education as much as it should – that people fought over.

Response - Indigenous Resistance.

Indigenous Resistance
In the 1900’s, an Indian tribe lived on the United States/Canada border [divided by.] They had to travel across the border often because of many events, family, and etc. Many were sent to Canada to go to the traditional school – with racial discrimination running very rapidly. First, wow, it can’t even imagine, “racial discrimination.” Because of the racial discrimination, many Salish Indian students were traumatized.  The other ones were sent to America to boarding schools. The article kept me intrigued; it made me think outside of the box, being that I had heard of the Salish Indian, but never truly understood what they had to endure. From the article I believe that we should embrace different cultures! We are allowed to be “free, supposedly?” This is America! The Land of the FREE, but those were not free, and truly many of us till this day aren’t free.

Sign the petition - Travon Martin

If you haven't heard of the story of Travon Martin you're missing out on an important and controversial issue. Travon Martin was a 17-year old black male who was gunned down allegedly by a George Zimmerman on February 26th, 2012. The young man walked to the local store to gather "skittles," for his brother; needless to say, he never returned with those skittles - he was pronounced dead with a gunshot wound to the chest. Zimmerman, stated previously on the dispatcher call, "This guy looks like he's up to no good, He's a suspicious man." If you don't agree with what Zimmerman did,  please sign the petition below. DON'T LET THIS CONTINUE!

Meatrix.

The Meatrix is essentially targeting large agriculture corporations – in fact, the companies are called, “greedy” in the Meatrix video. After viewing the video, I feel as though Free Range Studios did an amazing job creating the Meatrix videos. They explained how the large agriculture companies are not only destroying animals but are destroying their own kind – humans. Although we all have differences (i.e. rich – vs. – poor, we are all humans.) The corporations do not care about their workers, which include the farmers who obviously are “scared,” and I’d say, “weak.” If the public took a stand together, we would prevail. The corporations need our business; the public taking a stand has worked many times before in a variety of controversial issues. Free Range Studios are some of the few who have taken the stand to stop factory farming – feeding animals corn because of its cheapness; giving animals antibiotics to make them grow quicker (and live longer to suffer), not letting animals see any sunlight (how horrible is that?!), and making animals live in their own excrement (bacteria definitely runs rapid!) confined in an absolute hideous amount of space!  Its morally wrong, unfair, and together we all can make a difference. Do I think we will make a difference? 65% No, 35% Yes. We do live in a capital driving world – I.E. The agriculture corporations, and many people aren’t thinking of help each other let alone any animals. So…We must wait and see if any changes will occur…Hopefully so.

I saw an article that read, "Environmental Justice Case Study: Hog Farming in North Carolina."

The article goes into depth about Large Hog Corportations have came into NC and have taken over small hog farmers; the number of hog producers decreased rapidly, from 23K to 8K -- although the number of hogs have tripled in the state. HELP - a community group (group of residents) in Halifax County worked together to fight the Large Hog Corporations and won.
