According to Conway and Toenniessn, “The Green Revolution was one of the great technological success stories of the second half of the twentieth century. “ Which, I believe is true, essentially because it benefited everyone (specifically the poor, who would have starved without food.) Because of the Green Revolution, many children gained weight (they had a chance to eat proportionally correct) and without the Green Revolution, they would have stayed underweight, which more than 180 Million were (under the age of five.) Further, the Green Revolution increased profits in many countries (continents, et cetera.) Again, I believe what the authors stated, “The Green Revolution was one of the greatest technological success stories of the second half of the twentieth century,” because (1)it benefited the poor – it allowed for an ample amount of production of food, (2) children under the age of five – had a choice to receive a proportional balance of food daily intake, and finally, (3) the Green Revolution helped provide wealth (more than 3.4 billion dollars, in which the world very much needed.)
